I ain't ashamed to admit it: each month, I buy a box of clothes from good ol' Stitch Fix. Even though I'm a fashion blogger, I kind of hate shopping, especially as a petite girl. I can't tell you how many times I go into a store that advertises petite sizes...but they only sell them online.
That's where Stitch Fix comes in. Thankfully, over the last couple of years, they've begun incorporating petite clothing into their offering, so I figured I'd start sharing my hauls with you guys.
And just so you know, I do pay for my boxes. I'm not saying that you can't trust people who get them for free to review, but sometimes it's nice to know beforehand.
Without further ado, here's what I got this month!
Toms Desert Wedge Booties - $67
The good: I really love the color—it's the kind that goes with everything. I'm also a fan of the style, because it's got that dressed-up/casual vibe, and the wedge makes them really comfortable.
The problem is that I asked specifically for winter boots. You know, ones that are warm and have good traction for snow and ice. These do not fit the bill.
Sharon Thumb Hole Detail Pullover Sweater - $78
Ooh ooh this one is cozy! I love the big turtleneck, because it reminds me of something I saw on Extra Petite last fall.
The only thing I don't like is that it's one size too big, which again made me feel like my stylist wasn't paying close attention.
Plaid Elbow Patch Top
I've been having a bit of a love affair with buffalo plaid lately, so I really liked the print on this shirt. I'm also a fan of the quirky elbow patches!
Unfortunately, this was also a size too big, and I think it ended up looking kind of frumpy on me.
Verdict: sending back
Wilco Solid Quilted Vest - $68
I finally have an ajumma vest! Just kidding. I actually really like this, and it's something I never, ever would have chosen for myself. It's pretty lightweight, and it hits right at the hips so it doesn't make me look dumpy.
Here's the thing...I actually asked for a coat. This is kind of like half a coat. Still...
Raw Hem Skinny Jeans
WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL, STITCH FIX???
These jeans made me angry. Not only were they (say it with me) a size too big, but they're not petite. I don't know what went wrong, because last month I got a pair of pants that fit me like a dream, but these were so long I could almost cover my feet with them.
Verdict: sending back...with a vengeance
If this were my first Stitch Fix, I'd never want to use the service again. However, I know that my boxes have the potential to be really good, so despite this one being a huge disappointment, I have faith that the next one could be better.
When I sent in my review, Stitch Fix apologized and said they would be talking to the stylist who sent this box, and that I'd get a new one next month. Fingers crossed that February is a better one!
That being said, if you're interested in trying for yourself, you can schedule a Fix right here.
